Buttermilk Grow Supplies, LLC, is a minority owned business primarily targeting the needs of the cannabis community growers and cultivators (For how long been in business under this name?). As a result of our history within the field we have found large gaps of racial and cultural disparities within the field of cannabis production to which we feel a need to address that reaches beyond the selling of supplies. Over the last four years we have position ourselves within the field to be assistive to budding cannabis entrepreneurs with the development and launching of an annual New York Cannabis Freedom Festival.
Our Mission: To restore to our community that which targeted legislation has taken from us through over 70 years of planned disenfranchisement of the Black and Latino Community; the rights and freedom to enjoy and conduct commerce in the field of recreational Cannabis. We are working toward developing community-based workshops and literature for dissemination of legal rights, education about extraction methods, retailing products, testing without mandates and standards that serve to continue the disparities within the field, cultivation, and collaboration with fellow entrepreneurs.
Purpose: To educate and advocate. There is a need within the community to have the opportunity to acquire the information and knowledge that contributes to the development and building of business acumen among interested community members. We have offered cultivation classes and retail business classes, and we have found a profound interest within the community, which indicates that some members of the Black and Latino community desire to be producers and merchants who can meet the needs of consumers.
We are working toward developing community based educational workshops, literature for dissemination during events and community canvassing about legal rights, education about extraction methods, retailing products, branding and developing a clientele and other related business topics i.e. cultivation, collaboration with fellow entrepreneurs.
We are strong advocates of testing without mandates and standards that further serve to continue the disparities within the field, targeting legal and training services to those whose lives were disrupted by criminalization of practices that were as common in the communities of color and culture for generations without legal ramifications.
